THE eighth instalment of one of the biggest and most popular consumer expo, Consumer Fair, was officially launched yesterday at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.
It was officially launched by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Paduka Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah who was accompanied by Dato Hj Danial Haji Hanafiah, executive director of Sunlit Advertising Sdn Bhd, the organiser of Consumer Fair Part 8 (CF8).
In his opening speech, Dato Hj Danial expressed his appreciation towards the Brunei Government, exhibitors and the public for their continuous strong support, without which the Consumer Fair would not be what it was today.
He added: "To the visitors, happy shopping. To the honoured exhibitors, I wish you all the best in your business endeavours."
After the launching ceremony, Pehin Dato Hj Hazair was then taken on a tour of the exhibition by Dato Hj Danial during which representatives of participating companies and organisations took the opportunity to show and briefed on their products that were on offer during the expo.
Ongoing until Sunday, May 29, CF8 allows members of the public to experience and check out the vast products and services available at 320 booth set up during CF8. They include foodstuff, electrical appliances, furniture, IT products, banking and insurance services.
Visitors also get to take part in a number of specially-designed side activities, go on an adventure with the mysterious "Night Safari" mini theme park and more.
For the first time this year, the consumer fair is being held over five days instead of the usual four. According to event organiser, Sunlit, the additional one day was given as an act of recognition for the event's immense popularity, which the previous fairs had received.
The additional day is hoped to give visitors more time to enjoy the many offerings and other attractions featured during the latest instalment of the expo.
The doors to the fair open at 10am and close at 10pm daily and as always, entrance is free. For visitors convenience, there are also free shuttle bus services which will take them from the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex parking area to the ICC main entrance.
What's more, CF8 also features exhibitors from other countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, Syria, Iran, Pakistan and Thailand, besides Brunei.
To add to excitement, visitors to the fair can also enjoy and take part in the many fun games and activities that will take place throughout the CF8. Among them are the ice cream and sushi eating competitions, the Brunei Cyber Games and not to forget the Ranoadidas.com 8th anniversary celebrations.
